So I’m halfway through Daemul, and I am getting slightly annoyed by it.

YES.
Cannot wait - Gu Family Book premieres on 8th April, and it looks like it’s going to be awesome. The beautiful Lee Seung-gi looks set up to be cheeky and cute and adorable, and Suzy surprisingly looks like she could actually kick some ass (pardon my Americanisms). I’d been worried that she might turn into the soppy heroine stereotype: supposedly a badass fighter, but suddenly helpless in the face of any danger *cue hero*. So if Seung-gi and Suzy actually fight together, and are equally skilled, I am in for all 24 episodes. It does worry me a bit that she’s got a bodyguard though (in the form of the gorgeous Sung Joon – seriously, this cast is amazeballs), but I’ve got my fingers crossed. I might be going away until the beginning of April, so the first two episodes should drop straight before my return. Yay for good timing!
Stills below…
Watched this today! Well, yesterday evening now. I didn’t realise that it was the first day of its release – so now I’m excited that I’ve beaten the internet for once, haha. I’ll be posting my review of this tomorrow, but please bear in mind that it will be the opinion of a member of the general viewing public (not even a film buff!), so don’t expect any critique of the cinematography beyond ‘ooh purty’. I’m considering writing up a more detailed review replete with spoilers for those who have already watched this, and that would probably go up next weekend.
I’m recovering from a week of illness, and wanted to procrastinate instead of starting on my to-do pile. So I’m posting here for the first time in absolutely ages – heehee.
Right now, I’m in a weird place with dramas: I’ve actually only got two that I’m currently watching, but boy have I got a stack of must-watch dramas just simmering on the backburner. Shamefully, two are ones which I’ve watched most of, then quietly let slip away: I’m clearly not very good at following through. However, the clamours of acclaim and confirmation of the endings’ happiness levels are luring me back.
Ah seoulbeats, thank you for coming up with the goods. So I was browsing on that wonderful site, and what should I see but Park Jung-min’s comeback! It’s called ‘Beautiful’ and oh my goodness, you could not find another MV which manages to be so ridiculously high in the cheesiness stakes whilst still keeping you crushing on the hero. Be warned: picspam ahoy.
That’s IT. I have decided: I’m going to marry Yoo Seung-ho.

…and that’s when he proposed.

Arang and Eun-oh: so so cute together. Remind me why I haven’t finished this yet?
It’s been a bit of a drama drought for me lately: I’ve not really been obsessed with anything since Gaksital (which I recommend by the way. Word of warning: you’ll want to marathon it, so set aside enough time, and marathoning it will destroy you emotionally, so set aside enough tissues.). I watched up to Episode 15 of Arang and the Magistrate, but then kind of lost interest as the cute died down. I’ve read the recaps for it on the wonderful dramabeans though, and intend to finish it since it has a sweet happy ending. Also on my unfinished pile is Vampire Prosecutor 2 which to be honest confused me so much – I wouldn’t have survived the first season without recaps, and this season I was completely bewildered. I’ve only got two episodes left, but I doubt that I’ll finish it. All the current melos are really not my cup of tea: I prefer sweetness and light to the tear-inducing stuff, thanks. And I checked out Oohlala Spouses, was briefly entertained but quickly repulsed – no way am I going to root for a OTP where the husband is a cheater and overall misogynist. It’s probably for the best, since I need to work and avoid procrastination (see previous post), but sometimes you need to de-stress, and I use dramas for that.
Shallow post to begin with – what’s not to like?
Let me make it clear: I am an incredible slob. To give you an idea of my messiness without hopefully putting you off this blog forever, my room is currently covered with books from past and present reading lists (I have not yet reached the level of organization required to check out future reading lists. I probably never will.), and lecture notes that I’m planning to hole-punch at some point. I have food in my fridge past its sell-by-date. I pull all-nighters more often than not. Sometimes I will fall asleep without brushing my teeth after these all-nighters.
This blog is going to be my new form of procrastination. At least that way it’ll be mildly productive, kind-of-not-really. And I’ve had a brilliant start, having registered for wordpress a couple of years ago and not done very much since. What can I say, I’m a creative time-waster. Anyway, prepare for truckloads of rambling, internet – heeeeere’s blokkoms!
